What We Ate Tonight

Tonight’s order was a very good reminder of why @Home Thai works so well for families, locals and anyone after a fast, satisfying meal.

We started with the Seafood Rolls, which are crisp, easy to share and exactly the sort of entree that disappears quickly from the table. They are a great choice for kids and adults alike, especially with sweet chilli sauce on the side.

The Thai Fried Rice was another standout. @Home Thai does fried rice particularly well: simple, comforting, full of flavour and served in a generous portion. It is one of those dishes that works as a main, a shared side or a reliable takeaway staple.

The Red Duck Curry was rich, fragrant and satisfying, with the sweetness and warmth you want from a Thai red curry. If you like a curry that feels a little more special than the standard chicken version, this is a strong pick. (Featured image above)

The Prawns with Pepper and Garlic were another winner: punchy, savoury and aromatic, with that classic garlic-pepper flavour that makes Thai stir-fry so addictive.

Dishes We Keep Coming Back For

Over a few visits and deliveries, a few dishes have become favourites.

The Cashew Stir Fry is one of the safest recommendations on the menu. It has crunch, colour, vegetables, a slightly sweet savoury sauce and enough freshness to keep it from feeling heavy. It is a great choice for anyone who wants a stir-fry rather than curry or noodles.

The Thai Beef Salad is another dish we love. It is bright, tangy, fresh and full of herbs, with that classic balance of lime, chilli and savoury dressing. It is the sort of dish that cuts through richer curries and fried rice beautifully.

The Chicken Red Curry is a classic for a reason. If you are ordering for a group, it is an easy crowd-pleaser: creamy, warming, familiar and great with rice.

The Fish Cakes are also worth adding to the table. They bring that red curry paste flavour, a bit of bounce, herbs and spice, and they work well as a starter or side dish for sharing.

And then there is the fried rice. Honestly, all the fried rice options are worth considering. Whether you keep it simple or add seafood, chicken, beef or prawns, it is one of the things @Home Thai does consistently well.

What Other Reviewers Seem to Love

Looking across public reviews and delivery feedback, a few patterns stand out.

People regularly praise the speed. This matches our experience: the kitchen is quick, the food comes out fast and delivery orders tend to arrive hot and fresh.

The service also gets consistent praise. @Home Thai has that friendly, casual local feel where you are looked after without fuss.

Portion size comes up a lot too, and it is one of the reasons the restaurant works so well for families or groups. The serves are big, the prices feel reasonable, and the food is easy to share.

Other popular dishes mentioned by reviewers include Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, chicken skewers with peanut sauce, vegetarian spring rolls and laksa. Combined with the restaurant’s own menu, the strongest “best dish” shortlist would be:

  • Seafood Rolls

  • Fish Cakes

  • Thai Fried Rice

  • Pad Thai

  • Pad See Ew

  • Cashew Stir Fry

  • Thai Beef Salad

  • Red Duck Curry

  • Chicken Red Curry

Great for Families and Quick Local Dinners

One of the best things about @Home Thai is how easy it is. It is child-friendly, relaxed and quick, which matters when you are eating out with kids or just want dinner sorted without a long wait.

It is also a great takeaway and delivery option. Getting @Home Thai delivered via Uber Eats has always been quick and delicious for us, and that reliability is a big part of its appeal. Some restaurants are better dine-in than delivery; @Home Thai travels well.

Final Verdict

@Home Thai is exactly what a good neighbourhood Thai restaurant should be: fast, friendly, generous and consistently tasty.

It is not fine dining, and it does not need to be. It is comfort food done well, with big serves, quick cooking and warm service. For a casual dinner in Glebe, a family-friendly meal or a no-stress Uber Eats order, it is hard to beat.

Our rating: 5 out of 5.
